Masters Schedule |
The Masters Golf Tournament, the first the four Major Golf Tournaments (the other Mayors being the PGA Championship tickets, the British Open tickets and the U.S. Open tickets) the Masters is one of the most important events in golf. Maters Tournament tickets will no doubt provide a one-in-a-lifetime experience for those lucky enough to have them, In addition to tickets to golf Majors, Ticket Liquidator has plenty of other golf tickets. The Masters Tournament was first played in 1934, and normally takes place on the weekend ending on the second Sunday of April. The event was started by golf legends Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, who designed the course with course architect Alister MacKenzie. It is a 72-hole tournament that takes place over four exciting days, with a cut being made after the first 36 holes have been played. Since its first days, tickets to the Masters have been passes to see the legends of golf compete at the highest level. The Masters is hosted as an invitational, and is always played at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. It is the only Mayor that always takes place on the same course. Among the Four Mayors, the Masters is unique because the smallest number of golfers receive invitations, usually under 100. While few golfers are invited to the event, you can join them with your own set of Masters tickets, available right here at Ticket Liquidator. The presenting of the Green Jacket, which is awarded to the winner each year by the previous year's champion, is another tradition that ads to the Masters' prestige. The Green Jacket tradition was first started in 1949. Most people don't realize that the Green Jacket is the official jacket that members of the club wear while at the club. The Masters winner returns the jacket to the club after one year, and only wears it when he returns to the club. (In 1961, Gary Player broke this rule and refused to return his jacket.) Experience your own bit of Masters history with tickets to the Masters. In addition to the Green Jacket, a number of other awards may be presented during the tournament. They include an award for the daily low score, a hole in one, a double eagle, an eagle and the par 3 winner. The Silver Cup is presented to the amateur with the lowest score. Because the tournament was started by the great amateur golfer Bobby Jones, Augusta honors amateurs in several ways, including the pairing of the current U.S. Amateur with the defending Masters champion.
