Lollapalooza InformationThe Lollapalooza music festival in Grant Park, Chicago was originally started by Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction fame in 1991 as a touring festival. It sparked an emerging interest in the musical festival as a form in U.S. culture, a fad that gave rise to other hugely successful festivals such as Coachella and Bonnaroo. Lollapalooza tickets are always hugely popular due to the wide variety of artists you get to see in a weekend. In the 2007 festival in Chicago for example, fans got to see artists ranging from up and coming bands like Tokyo Police Club and The Black Keys to established alternative favorites like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and My Morning Jacket.
