Born Claude Russell Bridges of Lawton, OK, few would know that a child born during WWII and the baby boom would eventually became a living folk rock and country legend. Leon Russell first began his career as a keyboardist and session musician at the age of 14 with a group called The Starlighters. While it was rare at one time to see Leon Russell tickets on sale for solo performances, Russell has played with such big names as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Eric Clapton, The Byrds, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, Sinatra and The Rolling Stones.

In his earlier years, Leon Russell stationed himself in Los Angeles, Ca where he studioed guitar with James Burton who has worked with Elvis Presley, Rickey Nelson, Emmylou Harris and John Denver.
