Leap of Faith is a musical based on the 1992 film of the same name. The main character, Jonas Nightingale, played in the film by Steve Martin (Saturday Night Live, Father of the Bride) is a phony Christian faith healer who travels from town to town tricking people out of their money. After workshops and a production at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre, a Broadway production was announced to begin performances April 3, 2012, starring Raul Esparza (Company, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), who developed the character of Jonas throughout the workshops and at the Los Angeles production. Plot Synopsis:

"Reverend" Jonas Nightingale travels around with his ministry, conning people from town to town by posing as a faith healer. When his bus breaks down in a small town in Kansas, he sets up camp and invites the locals to an old-fashioned revival.
