Kid Rock Honored by NAACP

After a potentially disasterous flare up over Kid Rock's use of the Confederate flag at his concerts, Kid Rock donated $50,000 to various organizations in Detroit and was honored by the Detroit branch of the NAACP. In his acceptance speech, Kid Rock emphasized that he loves America, Detroit and black people. His use of the Confederate flag was a nod to his rock greats Lynyrd Skynyrd and not toward the legacay of racism and intolerance that the flag represents for many.
