Katy Perry Concert Tickets

Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour will "Roar" through North American Cities Perry promises that the Prismatic World Tour will be, as its name implies, "colorful." With more than 40 cities on the itinerary, it's the pop diva's most ambitious tour to date. It kicks off in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 22nd and winds its way up and down both coasts from Miami to Vancouver! Joining Katy for various dates are special guests Capital Cities, Kasey Musgraves, and Teagan and Sara. Perry promises the set list will include "all the songs you know" along with hits from her latest album, Prism.

"Roar" Nominated for Song of the Year

Perry is up against Pink, Bruno Mars, newcomer Lorde, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in the Song of the Year category, and Roar has also been nominated in the Best Pop Solo Performance category, not-so-coincidentally with with Sara Bareilles' "Brave." Critics have drawn comparisons between the two songs, which have similar empowering messages...and melodies!

About Katy Perry

Described as "fierce," "fiesty," and "provocative," Perry has drawn praise and criticism from her arrival on the world music scene. From her release of the controversial "I Kissed a Girl" to the stripped down ballad "Thinking of You" this pop princess has made her mark on the music industry with her unique style.

Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson was born to two Pentacostal pastors in Santa Barbara, CA and often sang in church. She was not allowed to listen to secular music, much like Kings of Leon. According to Perry, "My dad would give me ten dollars, which is a lot of money when you're nine, to sing at church, on tables at restaurants, at family functions--just about anywhere." A free Katy Perry concert? Lucky listeners...

It was at a sleepover as a child where Katy Perry would find her corruption in the form of a Queen record. At 15, Katy moved to Nashville and worked with some top professional songwriters, including Glen Ballard. Once Capitol Music caught wind of her voice in 2007, they offered her a contract. Down the long hard road to fame, outrageous Katy Perry concerts caught the attention of stars including Madonna, who was quoted saying that a song off Perry's 2007 EP was her favorite that year. Perry has cited Madonna as one of her major influences, along with Freddy Mercury.

Love Life

Perry was linked with two musicians from Christian rock bands: Justin York (brother of Taylor York of Paramore) of Tait, and Matt Thiessen of Relient K., late actor Johnny Lewis (Sons of Anarchy), and rapper Travie McCoy before marrying actor and comedian Russell Brand in 2010. Since her divorce in 2012, she's dated John Mayer.

Katy Perry: Philanthropist

Perry has been honored for her work and activism on behalf of LGBT causes, receiving the Trevor Hero Award in 2012. She's also leant her voice to raise money for children's health, animal rights, clean water projects and breast cancer awareness. In 2013 she was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
