John Mayer Concert Tickets |
About John Mayer Born the second of three sons in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mayer grew up in the nearby town of Fairfield. Among Mayer's early blues influences was Stevie Ray Vaughan, which inspired him on to be the dedicated blues guitarist he is today. Mayer began selling John Mayer tickets at local bars and quickly developed a reputation as a proficient master of the instrument. Mayer moved to Boston and studied at the Berklee College of Music but left in order to focus on his music and record his debut EP "Inside Out", produced by David "DeLa" LaBruyere. After the release of the independent EP, Mayer and LaBruyere embarked on a John Mayer tour of the southern states selling out of John Mayer tickets throughout the country. An appearance at the South by Southwest Music Festival facilitated Mayer's true career launch, when he was signed by Aware Records. Aware functioned as a feeder for larger record companies, and soon Mayer was signed by Columbia Records selling cheap concert tickets throughout the country. His early material with Aware was re-released, including his previously internet-only album, Room for Squares. In 2003, Mayer won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Your Body Is a Wonderland." He also released a live CD and DVD of a John Mayer concert performed in Birmingham, Alabama entitled "Any Given Thursday." His next album, called Heavier Things, made number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, and the reviews were once again positive, if a little more reserved than those for Room for Squares making John Mayer tickets more and more popular. Other releases and awards followed, and by 2005 Mayer was playing with The John Mayer Trio, featuring Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino. The Trio opened for the Rolling Stones during one of their tours and in November 2005, they released a live album called "Try!" In 2006, the John Mayer Trio released "Continuum,"and the band continues to work on a variety of other projects, many of which have been nurtured for years and are simply a labor of love. John Mayer's forthcoming album, "Battle Studies" is slated to be his best yet. He has stated that this album will be a decided change in musical style for him and fans can't wait to see him perform his new material at a John Mayer concert!
