About Jeff Beck

Born in Walling, England at the end of World War II, Jeff Beck grew up in a house that appreciated music. According to Beck, “For my parents, who lived through the war, music was a source of comfort to them. Life was tense and music helped them forget about their troubles. I’m sure that made an impression on me.” As a teenager, Jeff Beck sang in a church choir and practiced playing on borrowed guitars - he even tried to build his own! His inspirations included Les Paul, Brad Kinnison, Chuck Berry and Steve Cropper.

Jeff Beck began his career as a session guitarist. He replaced Eric Clapton in the Yardbirds when Clapton joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Jeff Beck soon became know for his easily-charged temper, often breaking guitars on and off stage. During his short time with the Yardbirds, Beck played with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

After parting from The Yardbirds, Beck went on to form the Jeff Beck group, making Jeff Beck tickets one of the most popular concert tickets to purchase at the time. The group included Jeff Beck on guitar, Rod Stewart on voice, Ronnie Wood on bass, Nicky Hopkins on piano, and Micky Waller on drums. The group went on to produce two chart-topping, heavy albums before embarking on a particularly tumultuous Jeff Beck tour which eventually led to their breakup in 1969. Two year after a debilitating car accident, Jeff Beck tickets would go on sale for a newly reformed group, which included drummer Cozy Powell, guitarist and vocalist Bobby Tench, keyboardist Max Middleton, and bassist Clive Chaman.

With a new sound, Jeff Beck tickets flew out of box offices, and Jeff Beck's group turned toward blues. After two albums the band broke up due to creative differences. Despite this, Beck continued touring, recruiting Tim Bogert, Carmine Appice, Max Middleton, and Bobby Tench. Once Middleton left the group, the power trio Beck, Bogert, and Appice was formed, selling many concert tickets throughout the U.S. The trio would only last a single album, breaking up in 1974.

Jeff Beck then embarked on a solo career, incorporating more of a jazz sound into 1975's album Blow By Blow with Max Middleton, Phil Chen, and Richard Bailey, which reached the No. 4 spot on charts. Beck released another studio album and live album before escaping to the U.S. on tax exile in 1977. Jeff Beck tickets would soon go on sale for a tour in Japan before he returned to the studio for the 1980 album There and Back.

In his career, Jeff Beck has performed with Eric Clapton, Sting, Phil Collins, Donvoan, Bob Geldof, Jimmy Page, Paul Rogers, and has collaborated with Brian May of Queen, David Bowie, and many more. He has won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jeff Beck's career proliferated through decades and transcends changes in music style. Like Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck isn't getting any younger, so pick up your Jeff Beck concert tickets today!
