Irving Berlin's White Christmas Events

Sorry, Irving Berlins White Christmas tickets aren't available at this time.

About the Show:

Irving Berlin's White Christmas is based on the classic 1954 film of the same name starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. It captures all of the holiday spirit and old-fashioned values audiences have come to love about the movie and adds a few new touches to create a stage spectacular that is perfect for the Christmas season. Some of the most memorable songs from the show include "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," and, of course, the legendary title song, "White Christmas," the most recorded Christmas song of all time (Bing Crosby's version is the best-selling record in history, selling over 100 million copies to date). The music, combined with the heartwarming storyline and dazzling costumes and dance numbers, makes White Christmas a quintessential holiday experience. Plot Synopsis:

The story opens on Christmas Eve, 1944, in a forward area somewhere in Europe. Captain Bob Wallace and Private Phil Davis are putting on a show for the troops of the Army's 151st Division. Major General Thomas F. Waverly shows up at the end of the show, just in time to be relieved of command by Brigadier General Harold G. Coughlan, and the men send him off in style. Later, during an enemy attack, Phil saves Bob's life by pushing him out of the way of a crumbling wall, injuring his own arm in the process. Using this (lightheartedly) as leverage, Phil convinces Bob to join him as an entertainment duo after the war (Bob is a former Broadway entertainer and Phil is an aspiring performer).

Following the war, the pair finds success in nightclubs until they hit it big on Broadway. Eventually, they become superstars and begin producing. Their musical Playing Around becomes a smash in New York City, playing two years before transferring to a Florida theatre. In mid-December, Bob and Phil get a message from an old army buddy asking them to audition his two sisters, When they arrive at the club, the two women, Betty and Judy, reveal that they sent the letter. The men help the women escape their landlord (who claims that the two damaged his property) by distracting him with a song, and they later join them on a train to Vermont. Guilting him using his arm injury, Phil convinces Bob to join Betty and Judy to Vermont for the holidays.

When they arrive at the Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont, the boys discover that it is owned by their former Major General, Tom Waverly, but it is not doing well due to a lack of snowfall. He has dumped all of his savings into the failing inn hoping that things will turn around. The boys decide that they must try to help business pick up, so they stage Playing Around, complete with its original Broadway cast and the newly added Betty and Judy. When Phil and Bob discover that Waverly unsuccessfully tried to rejoin the army in light of his current troubles, they vow to prove to him that he is still honored and respected. So they call up another old army friend, Ed Harrison, now the host of a very successful national variety show. Bob entreats all of the men formerly under Waverly's command to head up to Vermont to see the show on Christmas Eve. But due to a misunderstanding about the fate of the show, Betty takes a job in New York City, and Phil and Judy fake their engagement to try to bring Betty and Bob back together. Can the old 151st Division save the Columbia Inn and Waverly's pride? Will the two couples straighten out their misunderstandings and find their happily ever afters?
