The winner of the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl is awarded the Holiday Bowl Trophy as well as a $2,350,000 cash prize, not to mention a great story for anyone that bought game tickets! The game was been known as the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl since 2010. Previously it has been known as the Pacific Life Insurance Company Holiday Bowl and before that the Culligan Holiday Bowl. The Holiday Bowl is aligned with the Big 12 and the Pac-12, meaning that teams from that conference get first shot at participating in the game. The other bowl games associated with the Big 12 are the Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Insight Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Texas Bowl. Games associated with the Pac-12 include the Rose Bowl, Sun Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Fight Hunger Bowl and the New Mexico Bowl.
