The awards ceremony has had many homes over the years. Originally it was held in both New York and Los Angeles simultaneously. Chicago and Nashville were eventually added. In 1971 they began holding the ceremony in one location, which varied from year to year. Some of the most memorable locations were Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The Grammy Awards Ceremony finally found a permanent home in 2004 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
