Theatre:New World Stages340 West 50th Street New York, NY 10019 About the Show:Freud's Last Session is an academic and philosophical wellspring of ideas and debate. Freud, a staunch atheist, and Lewis, a committed believer, seem to have very little in common other than their genius and proclivity to argument. This play speculates as to what a meeting of these men would produce, and in the mind of playwright Mark St. Germain, there would be no shortage of intellectual sparring. Order your Freud's Last Session tickets today and indulge your curiosity; these two huge personalities have a lot to say, even if their meeting is merely imagined. Plot Synopsis:It is the day that England enters World War II, and eminent psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud has invited young professor C.S. Lewis to his London home. Lewis arrives tentatively, assuming that he is to be called out for criticizing Freud in a recent book, but eventually discovers that Freud has much more ambitious intentions. Over the course of this meeting, the two great minds wrestle over questions of faith, love, sex, and the biggest questions of our existence. Little did Lewis know that Freud would choose to take his life just two weeks later. Run Time:80 minutes with no intermissionAdvisory:Appropriate for young teens and olderCreative Team:
