Grammy-nominated, Canadian progressive house DJ Deadmau5 isn’t the kind of person you’d likely forget if you saw him in person. First off, he’d be wearing a large grinning prosthetic mouse head, looking like Mickey Mouse riding the E-train. Fortunately, gimmicks aside, Joel Zimmerman, the man behind the mask, is all talent.

A Deadmau5 concert is sure to be a good party. Zimmerman spins a bouncy mix of electro, house, IDM, noise pop and trip hop that has the singular effect of getting bodies moving on the dance floor. Critcally acclaimed, Deadmau5 was Beatport’s best-selling artist in 2009 and he was selected as MTV’s house DJ for the 2010 Video Music Awards.

Deadmau5 also has his own avatar in DJ Hero 2, a dedicated radio station in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, has played the Oxegen, LovEvolution, Belsonic, Leeds, Reading and Creamfields Festivals and performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
