After a disappointing 2011 campaign, the re-tooled 2012 Colorado Rockies are back and looking to make a run in the National League West this year. Gone are position players like Ty Wiggington and Chris Iannetta, replaced by veterans Michael Cuddyer, Casey Blake, Marco Scutaro and Ramon Hernandez. Jason Hammel and Matt Lindstrom were traded and the pitching staff remains a question mark, as ace Ubaldo Jimenez has departed for the Cleveland Indians, and tickets for the Indians should benefit. On top of Jimenez's departure, Jorge De La Roso underwent Tommy John surgery and will be out until June. It remains to be seen if pitcher Jhoulys Chacin can step into the number one spot and if other pitchers like Guillermo Moscoco can step up as well. Huston Street is also gone, and the Rockies will look to Rafael Betancourt to handle the closer duties. See all the question answered throughout the season with Colorado Rockies tickets from Ticket Liquidator. Thankfully for them, the Rockies still have Carlos “El Caballo” Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki anchoring the heart of their lineup and providing needed pop. The veteran newcomers look to provide some experience, especially Scutaro, Cuddyer and Blake. Marco Scutaro was a solid shortstop for the Red Sox and has a proven track record, as does Cuddyer, who came from the Twins, and Blake, who played for the Indians and Dodgers. The Rockies also have the newly acquired Jeremy Guthrie, who led the American League with 17 losses last season pitching for the lowly Orioles. Escaping the brutal AL East should help Guthrie, who can eat up a lot of innings. Pitchers and catchers report on February 20 in Scottsdale, Ariz. and the full team reports on February 27. The first Spring Training game takes place at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 3. Opening Day is at the Houston Astros on April 6, and 2012 Houston Astros tickets are available too. In 2011, the Rockies were 73-89 and finished fourth in the NL West.

Colorado Rockies BaseballRockies links: Denver's thin air is the bane of pitchers and the ambrosia of Colorado Rockies hitters, the latter of which dominate Coors Field in spectacular fashion. Not only do balls travel 10% further so far above sea level, pitches also have far less movement, two factors resulting in batters being able to hit balls longer and more frequently. This has allowed the Colorado Rockies' decent sluggers to become titans, while reducing dominant pitchers to bush-leaguers. The Colorado Rockies have both benefited and ailed from their unique location, posting outstanding offensive numbers but registering equally abysmal defensive ones. Still, the high-scoring brand of baseball they produce sells tickets and sends Colorado Rockies ticket holders home happy. As of late the Rockies and MLB have been putting their baseballs in a humidor to help offset some of the effects of the thinner air. This has helped "normalize" Coors Field to some degree, but lets not kid ourselves, this is a hitter park. ![]() The first Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field resulted in an 11-9 victory over the New York Mets. Earning the "Mile-High" nickname, the 20th row of Coors Field's upper deck is exactly one mile above sea level. While the high-scoring games entertain the crowd, they don't necessarily translate into Colorado Rockies success. Because of the home disadvantage to pitchers, Colorado has had trouble luring top-class hurlers to the team. This allows other teams to hit at Coors Field at least as well as the Rockies, and leaves the team relying on its offense when playing away games, where their batters revert to being mere mortals. Still, in its short history, the Colorado Rockies franchise has managed to reach the playoffs once a few times and came close to beating the Boston Red Sox in the 2007 World Series. Back in 1995, the Rockies were ousted by the Atlanta Braves. Fans have not forgotten, and they always grab tons of Rockies tickets when the Braves are in town. And with the rabid support from fans in the area, it's only a matter of time until sheer enthusiasm and the promise of big offensive numbers persuade top-quality players to move to the Colorado Rockies. TicketLiquidator knows that the funs approve of offensive baseball, and its got great Colorado Rockies tickets at excellent prices to get you in on the action. Rockies Team Information:
