The Open Championship takes place on the weekend with the third Friday in July and is the only one of the Four Major Golf Tournaments that takes place outside the U.S. It is hosted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. It is always played on a links course on one of about nine rotating U.K. locations.
