Rising country/rock singer and songwriter Brantley Gilbert has come a long way from his days selling his five-song EP out of the back of his truck. Brantley Gilbert is a finalist for the 2012 New Artist of the Year Award at the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards along with country stars Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery of American Idol fame. Brantley Gilbert is currently touring with Eric Church for his The Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour and is also appearing with Toby Keith at Nebraskaland Days and Country Thunder USA in the summer of 2012. Brantley Gilbert’s single “Country Must Be Country Wide,” written along with Colt Ford and Mike Dekle, reached the top of the Hot Country Songs charts and has sold more than 160,000 downloads. In 2011, the deluxe version of his Halfway to Heaven album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Charts, and the two versions of the album have sold almost 500,000 albums to date. Brantley Gilbert was born and raised in Jefferson, Ga., a small town about an hour outside of Atlanta. Gilbert was touring and studying to be a relationship counselor at Georgia College & State University when a near-fatal car accident inspired him to pursue music full-time. The accident also inspired the title track of Halfway to Heaven. Despite the accident, Gilbert still enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson.

Brantley Gilbert has released two albums on Average Joe’s Entertainment Group Label. His first album Modern Day Prodigal Son was released in 2009 and followed by Halfway to Heaven in 2010. After signing with Big Machine Records of Valory Music Co. in 2011, he re-released a deluxe edition of Halfway to Heaven with additional tracks. Valory Music Co. is also home to country stars Reba Mcentire and Justin Moore. He has also written songs “Dirt Road Anthem” (along with Colt Ford) and “My Kinda Party” that were major hits for Jason Aldean and his 2010 album My Kinda Party. He calls Jason Aldean one of his favorite country music singers “because he’s making me money.” He also enjoys Lady Antebellum, who he has played alongside.
