About the Show:

The Book of Mormon is quite possibly the most outrageous musical Broadway has ever seen--in a very good way. We should expect no less from the ruthlessly satirical minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the boundary-pushing animated series South Park, and Robert Lopez, a writer of Avenue Q, the edgy musical comedy that took home the Tony for Best Musical in 2004. The show has garnered almost universal praise by critics and patrons alike. Jon Stewart of The Daily Show said it is "so good it makes me angry," while a reviewer from Entertainment Weekly called it "the funniest show I've ever seen, by far." Naturally, the show has become supremely popular, so tickets to The Book of Mormon are in high demand.

The Book of Mormon lampoons organized religion (take, for instance, the song "Spooky Mormon Hell Dream") and the effects of missionaries on the views and dreams of native peoples (as in the song "Sal Tlay Ka Siti," sung by Nabalungi, a Ugandan tribe member who dreams of moving to the mecca of Mormonism). But the show remarkably has some heart as well. The New York Post said, "It makes fun of organized religion, but the two Mormons are real people, not caricatures," and the Washington Post said, "The marvel of The Book of Mormon is that even as it profanes some serious articles of faith, its spirit is anything but mean." With such positive reviews, The Book of Mormon tickets are selling fast, so get yours today!

"...The Book of Mormon really is all it's cracked up to be and more. I have never before encountered a musical in which every single song is catchy, memorable, and well-written..." Read the full review >>

Plot Synopsis:

The show takes place in the present day, as a mismatched pair of Mormon missionaries travel to Uganda to spread the word of the Book of Mormon. Elder Cunningham is an insecure, overweight character who often mixes up his theology with parts of fantasy movies while Elder Price is handsome, enthusiastic, and cocky in his ability to convert the natives even though no missionaries have been able to succeed before. The poverty- and disease-stricken Ugandans live under despotic rule but feign happiness in order to cope. Cunningham's and Price's persistence and promises of a happier life soon work their way into the Ugandans' minds as they learn how Mormonism can work for them. But these wide-eyed boys may just learn more than they teach in this adventure--get your Book of Mormon tickets today to see how.
