John Francis Bongiovi was a New Jersey teen when he first formed a band with friend David Bryan Rashbaum. The two recorded in the NYC Power Station recording studio run by Bongiovi's cousin and were exposed to members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Dave Sabo joined on guitar with bassist Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres to complete the lineup.
