About the Show:Baby It's You! is a new jukebox musical telling the story of legendary record producer Florence Greenberg, her discovery of pop music group The Shirelles, and all of their subsequent success. It features such classic songs as "Rockin' Robin," "Mama Said," Yakety Yak," "Sixteen Candles," "Dedicated to the One I Love," Twist and Shout," "It's My Party," and "Walk on By." Baby It's You! comes from the people who created the hit musical Million Dollar Quartet, which was based on the music from a legendary jam session of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley, and was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Book. Both shows are part of co-creator Floyd Mutrux's "American Pop Anthology" series, which highlights the musical phenomena of the 1950s through the 1980s. Plot Synopsis:Florence Greenberg, an ordinary New Jersey housewife, hears from her daughter about a group of very gifted African-American girls who are preparing to perform at her high school's talent show. Upon hearing the group, Florence immediately decides to sign them to a recording contract, and she founds Scepter Records to manage them. After the great success of the girls, now called The Shirelles, Florence goes on to discover more breakout stars such as The Isley Brothers, The Kingsmen, and Dionne Warwick.
