Arizona Cardinals Information
Perennial NFC Whipping Boys the Arizona Cardinals are finally putting together a squad capable of making a run toward the postseason. With Head Coach Dennis Green on the sidelines, future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner directing the team from the line of scrimmage, and the $450 million Cardinals Stadium slated to be ready for the 2006 season, hopes are high in Arizona.
The Cardinals have never won a Super Bowl, though they did win a pair of league championships while based in Chicago, years before the Super Bowl was first played in 1967. The franchise had moved to St. Louis in 1960, then moved again to Arizona in 1988. Ten years later, with Jake Plummer as quarterback, the Cardinals appeared in and won their first playoff game since 1982.
With a mixture of youth and experience, Arizona continues to strive for a spot in the playoffs, from which they hope to make an assault on the trophy that has eluded them for so long. Fans are coming out from every corner of the desert hoping to witness their team making history, which means Cardinals tickets are some of the hottest in town. Fortunately, TicketLiquidator has a variety of those Arizona Cardinals tickets so you can be there too. Arizona Cardinals NewsThe 2006 Arizona Cardinals season began with the chance to beat the poor 5-11 record of 2005, and ended with Head coach Dennis Green being fired at the end of the season, replaced by former Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. The team relocated to the Cardinals Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. After a strong start, they hit some obstacles, in the form of lost games against various teams. Their season ended with an identical record to 2005, a disappointing 5-11.
On March 12, 2006, free agency, the Cardinals acquired former Colts man Edgerrin James, signing him to a four-year, contract worth $30 million. The Cardinals acquired quarterback Matt Leinart with the 10th pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. Leinart played for the University of Southern California in 2003 and 2004. Also in the draft, the Cardinals selected, among others, Georgia tight end Leonard Pope, Michigan defensive tackle Gabriel Watson, linebacker Brandon Johnson from Louisville, defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis from Virginia Tech, and Brigham Young's Todd Watkins.
The Cardinals won their first game of the regular season at their new home to the San Francisco 49ers, but went on to lose the next 8 games in a row, not winning again until they played the Detroit Lions in week 11. They were then beaten by the Vikings the following week, before winning two on the bounce against the Rams and the Seahawks. By the time they'd won their next one in week sixteen at Candlestick Park against the 49ers, the Cardinals record was in tatters, and they were destined for a lowly fourth spot in the NFC West Division. The Cardinals lost their final game at San Diego, and their season was over with a sad 5-11 record. The hope is that next year, Cardinals playoffs tickets will be moving like crazy, and we can only hope.

Their University of Phoenix Stadium, new as it is to the Cardinals, is a place where Arizona football fans gather to discuss changes to the roster, the NFL schedule, and the changing fortunes of their beloved team. Arizona Cardinals tickets will always be in demand around Phoenix, and as fans settle into their new stadium with its retractable roof and retractable grass playing surface, they will surely see their reward soon. It's been a while since the Cardinals won any kind of notable trophy, so they are definitely due one!
