American Psycho the movie was released in 2000, nine years after the Bret Easton Ellis book hit shelves. The movie, directed by Mary Harron of "I Shot Andy Warhol," was decidedly less graphic than the book. Christian Bale, who is known for diving deep into roles, received awards ranging from the ALFS Award for British Actor of the Year to the Online Film Critics Society Award for Best Actor. The cast of American Psycho Broadway hasn't been announced but sources have speculated that Christian Bale himself may reprise the role making American Psycho tickets worth every penny.

Currently, American Psycho Broadway is still in the production stage with Tony Award winning songwriter of Spring Awakening Duncan Sheik composing the score and HBO's Big Love writer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa penning the script.
