Nascar Sprint Cup Series: Brickyard 400 Presented By Bigmachinerecords.Com Schedule |
Allstate 400; Makin' Dust at the Brickyard The race formerly known as the Brickyard 400, a NASCAR Nextel Cup points race, run at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, is the first race other than the Indianapolis 500 to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1916. Such a rare spectacle will always draw people, and it is true to say that Allstate 400 at the Brickyard tickets are a big deal. Allstate 400 tickets are in fact heavily prized by racing fans, as this is the only stock car race to be held at the Indianapolis Speedway. Since 1994, the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard has thrilled huge crowds, but it began as nought more than a rumor, given life by an interesting group of present and former NASCAR heroes. When A.J. Foyt went to film a commmercial at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1991, he took his NASCAR stock car for a spin at the track, the first stock car ever to run on the hallowed ground. Before long, others, including renowned IROC drivers Dick Trickle and Dave Marcis, had also run tests on the Speedway track, and momentum was growing towards an all-out stock car race at Indianapolis. In mid-1992, Goodyear held a so-called tire test at Indianapolis, which was actually a cloaked operation on the part of nine NASCAR Winston Cup Series teams who were gauging the track's ability to race stock cars. During the trial, A.J. Foyt took ill-fated Dale Earnhardt's car out for a spin on the novel new surface. In April 1993, the news was announced; the Brickyard 400 was to be raced the following year. People now had the chance to watch the thundering stock cars they loved compete on a racetrack of the Indy's caliber. Tickets to the race were known as Brickyard 400 tickets, until 2004 when the race changed its name, and became the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. Allstate 400 at the Brickyard tickets are now part of the blood and guts of the competitive stock car calendar, and if you want your NASCAR tickets move quick, for the racetrack is large, and the numbers of people looking for race tickets larger still. The tradition of kissing the bricks at the Brickyard 400 finish line began in 1996, when Dale Jarrett and his crew did it. Funnily enough, the Indianapolis 500 participants have adopted this amusing ritual since then, and lucky Allstate 400 at the Brickyard ticket holders, as well as Indianapolis 500 ticket holders, get to see this up close. |
