Has Tyler gone soft in the cozy, warm womb of American Idol or will the old Aerosmith rear its rock star head? Aerosmith tickets for the band's return are on sale now!About Aerosmith
It's hard to believe that a band as pertinent as Aerosmith began its legacy at an ice cream parlor, but that's exactly where vocalist Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry met in 1970. These bad boys from Boston actually met on a vacation in Sunapee, New Hampshire and later moved to Bean Town with the dream of forming America's greatest rock n' roll band. When bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer and guitarist Ray Tabino (who was soon replaced by Brad Whitford) joined the mix, the Aerosmith lineup was complete.
After just two short years together, and an Aerosmith concert or two, Aerosmith was signed by Clive Davis to Columbia Records. Shortly after, their eponymous record was released and reached #166 on US charts. To promote the album, Aerosmith tickets went on sale for an Aerosmith tour throughout the US before the release of their second album, Get Your Wings, which spent over a year on the charts. According to Rolling Stone- "Maintaining an agile balance between Yardbirds and Who-styled rock and Seventies heavy metal, Aerosmith's second album surges with pent-up fury yet avoids the excesses to which many of their peers succumb."
Aerosmith's music style is timeless yet original and in the history of music, no other band has been able to replicate their sound. Entering the roster of greats like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith concert tickets have always been a hot item. Known for a mix of gritty blues, scratchy shrieks, distorted guitars and raunchy lyrics - Aerosmith's breakthrough album would be 1975's Toys in the Attic which landed them the classification of punk rock. Aerosmith tickets didn't give fans the psychedelic, world-music moods of Led Zeppelin but it did give them some savage riffs to dance to when they took their Aerosmith tickets to Aerosmith concerts.
By 1977, Aerosmith tours were selling out of Aerosmith tickets throughout the world. Aerosmith had released four successful albums including the singles "Dream On" and "Walk This Way." Aerosmith initially opened for tours featuring larger acts, but soon audiences caught wind of the band's sound and they quickly acheveived headlining status - fans were requesting Aerosmith tickets in the thousands! The rigorous Aerosmith tour schedule would prove to be trying on the group in 1979 as Perry and Tyler sunk into habitual drug use causing dissolution of the band lineup leaving Perry and Whitford to find work else ware.
After a few mediocre releases, the original members met backstage at an Aerosmith concert in 1984- their comeback album Done with Mirrors did moderately well, but it was their collaboration with Run D.M.C. on the "Walk This Way" remix that really sold Aerosmith concert tickets. Following the band’s reunion, Aerosmith would release Permanent Vacation featuring the hit singles "Dude (Looks Like a Lady), "Angel" and "Rag Doll" all reaching the top 20 slots on charts.
Continuing the winning streak, fans were buying Aerosmith concert tickets to see the quadruple platinum album Pump live. With tracks like "Love in an Elevator", "Janie's Got a Gun," "What It Takes" and "The Other Side" Aerosmith took home a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. Aerosmith tour dates continued to sell out with the edgy Get a Grip in 1993 providing hits like "Cryin," "Crazy" and "Living on the Edge."
Aerosmith wouldn't be Aerosmith without riding down a bumpy road and the mid 90's once again proved to be trying to the band. With management changes and accusations of a break in Tyler's sobriety, the band seemed to be losing its footing yielding one hit single "Pink" during that time. Sorting out their differences soon after, the single "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" off of the Armageddon soundtrack would draw attention to the band and Aerosmith concert tickets would disappear into the hands of adoring fans once again. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 before their release of Just Push Play with the top ten single "Jaded."
Aerosmith can owe much of their fame to their prolonged touring career. Other then their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Aerosmith holds the record for the best-selling American hard rock band of all time with 9 #1 hits, which have earned them 10 MTV Video Music Awards and four Grammys. Fans have kept coming back to Aerosmith concerts because their shows are nothing short of outrageous.
