Adele Pulls Out of Mercury Music Prize Performance

In an unfortunate twist of fate, Adele was forced to pull out of her performance at this year's Mercury Music Prize Awards when she was struck with a case of bronchitis. This would have been the first year ever that all of the nominees for the prestigious music prize would have been able to perform together but the show will go on. A few other dates have been cancelled as the young icon recovers but Adele concert tickets are still on sale for future dates.

Adele in Running for Bond Theme Song

Potentially joining the ranks of such rock luminaries as Duran Duran and U2, there are rumors coming out of the Bond camp that Adele may be in the running to produce the title track. Other recording artists who are in the running include Kings of Leon and Beyonce. Daniel Craig, the former star of the latest entries in the Bond franchise, is reportedly pushing for Kings of Leon.

Adele Taking Over the World

Well into her North American tour with months still left, Adele is riding high on a wave of accolades ranging from a Mercury Prize nomination to becoming the highest selling digital artists of all time with her accalimed album 21. It seems touring through America has had quite the impact on the young artist. In a recent interview she announced that her thrid album would be a country-western-bluegrass album, a 180 degree turn from her latest blues-fuled extravaganza. Adele mentioend that she had her eyes opened while touring and felt like "a four-year-old in a candy shop" with all the new influences. Now she plans on spending time in Nashville and Austin prior to recording in order to better appreciate these distinct pieces of America's cultural heritage. Adele and Alicia Keys to Team Up

With Adele's voice healed up after her bout with laryngitis and Adele tour dates back in motion, the singer has been tapped by beatmaker and producer Swizz Beatz to team up with his wife Alicia Keys for an all star duet of historic proportions. It's unclear whether the collaboration will really happen and whether or not Swizz Beatz would be the producer, but the all-star beatmaker behind some of Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West's recent hits seemed confident that the too would team up sooner than fans think, and does have the ear of at least one of the divas in question.
