The Ducks are back again with one of the NHL's best defenses. No doubt about it, the Ducks rely on their defence to win games. While defense is always important, lets not forget the Ducks won it all in 2007 with just that approach, a team needs to score in order to win. The Ducks were near the bottom in scoring last year, so they will need to improve that if they hope to win the Cup again.
It looks like the Ducks do have some players that are ready to play, but we will see if they are able to play well enough. The team will lean on a pair of 23-year-olds in Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf to do most of the offense this season, so lets hope the youngsters can improve on last year's scoring. The Ducks have one of the premier goalies in the league in Jean-Sebastien Giguere who is always able to keep the team in the game.
The Ducks certainly have their meetings with the Stars circled on the calendar, as they no doubt want revenge for the early exit from the post-season the Stars gave them last year. It will also be an exiting game when the Kings come to town as both teams battle for Los Angeles supremacy. The Ducks look set to return as an NHL elite, so get your Ducks tickets early and watch the team take on all comers.

www.mightyducks.com Recent History: On January 16, 2007 the Ducks played the 1000th game of their franchise career. On March 11, they registered their 1000th franchise point when they beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-2. The Ducks won their first ever Pacific Division title when San Jose Sharks lost their final game of the season. Anaheim also ended that season with a total of 110 points. This was the first time the Ducks had bettered 100 points for the season in their history.
The official mascot for the Anaheim Ducks is a duck by the name of Wild Wing. He has been the Ducks' mascot since its first season, his name decided via a poll by the fans. He wears the number 93 on his back, a reference to the year the Ducks were founded.
A bronze statue of Wild Wing stands proudly outside the Ducks' Honda Center stadium. The mascot's name was also used for the leader of the Ducks in a Mighty Ducks cartoon series of the same name.
An attempt by the team's owners to replace Wild Wing as mascot was prevented after a petition by enraged Ducks fans.
