The Foo Fighters just announced their first concert date for their 2015 tour! In support of their upcoming album, Sonic Highways, Dave Grohl and the gang will be heading to Chicago’s Wrigley Field next August 29th. Sonic Highways contains the same authentic sound that’s come to be expected by the Foo Fighters, who recorded their last album, Wasting Light, in Grohl’s garage to prove that they didn’t need fancy recording equipment to produce quality songs. Sonic Highways has a similar uniqueness ... [Read more]

Like the Grateful Dead, most people associate Phish with drugs. In fact, substances are easier to come by in the parking lots of Phish shows than tie-dyed shirts. As journalist Scott Waldman says, “While most of the itinerant herd travels with Phish for the music, every show is essentially an open-air drug market.” However, what newer Phish fans may not know is that lead singer Trey Anastasio is a recovered alcoholic/addict and is currently seven years sober. Who is Melissa Etheridge ? Well, I’m not a super-fan, but I do like her music and think she’s pretty rad, so I’ll try to help you out. A Berklee College of Music dropout, this singer/songwriter/guitarist got her start in Los Angeles in the 80s like a lot of rock artists do - by playing in bars. Etheridge released three albums from 1988 to 1992, and broke into the mainstream scene with her fourth album in 1993, allowing her to become one of the most popular rock artists of the 90s. She won two G... [Read more]

Although the singer-songwriter is most famous for overplayed radio hits like “Jack and Diane” and “Pink Houses,” John Mellencamp (formerly John Cougar Mellencamp [formerly Johnny Cougar]) also has quite a few other impressive accomplishments under his music belt (which is also equally impressive, including 13 Grammy nominations, 22 Top 40 hits, and over 40 million albums sold). Watch out James Franco, here comes another modern-day Renaissance man! 1.) Farm Aid – As ... [Read more]

Phish has been on tour nearly all summer, and they’re not stopping anytime soon. The hip Vermont-based jam band will continue rocking into autumn as they play the west coast through November. Phish has been going strong since the 1980s, and their cult-like following is only increasing with each new generation of earthy-crunchy, Trader Joe’s-loving neo-hippies. Though the band has never received any type of mainstream airplay, Phish’s dedicated fan base has ensured continuous success, picking up ... [Read more]
Murder? Mayhem? No. Just two of the hottest boy bands in the world and their most painfully vocal fans. August 1st marked the beginning of the North American leg of One Direction’s “Where We Are” tour with opener 5 Seconds of Summer, the Australian pop punk band with an equal knack for causing those high-pitched shrieks only teenage girls can make (Harry Styles allegedly cured a girl of laryngitis earlier this year after not speaking for six months because her need to squeal was that powerful). ...
