Contrary to rumors, Jay Z and Kanye West didn't release their eagerly awaited, forthcoming album Watch the Throne on Independence Day. Jay did have a listening party at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo and invited the top tier of the music press to drink champagne and hear the almost completed cache of songs from the album which features cameos by Beyonce and Frank Ocean.
