So maybe the rumors aren’t true, that the untouchable boy band/girl band combo tour of the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls isn’t happening, but let’s not lose sight of what’s really happening here… the BACKSTREET BOYS are going on tour with AVRIL LAVIGNE! Ok, so maybe Avril was a little late, missing the 90s and making her way through in the 2000s instead, but I don’t think anyone can deny singing along to “Sk8er Boi” on at least one occasion. And I’ll be honest, I was more of an ‘N SYNC girl myself, but I admit, I was a bit serenaded by “As Long As You Love Me”, and no, I’m not talking about Justin Bieber (eye roll). The Backstreet Boys produced memorable songs that, to this day, girls can’t help but screech at when they come on. And I’m sure the guys can’t hold back from joining in on “I Want It That Way” at the top of their lungs from time to time with their bros. It’s ok to admit it. The Backstreet Boys were an influence on us growing up in the 90s, along with other top boy bands like Hanson, BB MAK, LFO, 98 Degrees… TOTAL blast from the past. But hey, the Jonas Brothers and One Direction have nothing on them in my opinion. So “Everybody, Backstreet’s Back”!
