Ticket Liquidator Great American Bake Sale A Success

December 3, 2012

We are happy to announce that The Great American Bake Sale (GABS) sponsored by Ticket Liquidator was a great success; the Ticket Liquidator team raised over $330.00 with their delicious homemade treats. The event took place on November 27, 2012 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT and November 28, 2012 at TicketNetwork Headquarters in South Windsor, CT. One hundred percent of the proceeds went directly to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign which seeks to "end childhood hunger in America by 2015." Just check out the enormous cupcakes, over-stuffed devil dogs, jumbo cinnamon buns and peanut butter fudge that flew off our table:

On November 18, 2012 members of the and Live Toast marketing team released the following video:

During the next week we unglued our fingers from our keyboards, threw on our aprons and traded our computer screens for cookbooks. We hauled our treats over to the UConn Storrs Student Union and set up shop for hoards of hungry students preparing for finals (good luck guys!). The next day we toted a second helping to our headquarters back in South Windsor, CT to sell nearly every last cookie, tart and truffle on our table.

(GABS) is a division of the Share Our Strength Campaign, a non-profit organization that raises funds to increase awareness of hunger issues in America and unite local anti-hunger organizations, NPOs, businesses and government officers in an effort to bring about change. The Great American Bake Sale teams up with local organizations and individuals to host bake sales in their communities. This year, Domino Sugar and C & H Sugar matched every dollar amount raised for GABS through November 30, 2012 increasing the total amount to over $660.00! We received the following video from Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry thanking us for our help (thanks for making us feel all warm and fuzzy!):

To hold a bake sale in your community, sign up on the GABS site, recruit bakers and promoters, update your team webpage and secure a location. The GABS website has a wealth of information to help you get started, including a large recipe database full of modified box and from scratch recipes.

GABS was held as part of Ticket Liquidator's effort to reach out to the community on a regular basis. As part of the Ticket Liquidator Cares division, the Ticket Liquidator team has volunteered at local soup kitchens, food distribution centers and family centers like The Open Hearth, FoodShare and Family Life Education. Ticket Liquidator Charity donates gift certificates to non-profits, schools, community centers, animal shelters and the like nearly every week! If you would like to nominate an organization for donation, please email the Ticket Liquidator Cares Charity team at

Ticket Liquidator would like to thank the hungry students of UConn and Ticket Network employees for buying our delicious desserts, The Great American Bake Sale for providing us with such a fulfilling opportunity and the UConn Student Union Events Services staff for allowing us to visit their school as a vendor. Like us on Facebook for future events!
