Ice Cream Sandwich and Moonfruit

October 19, 2011

The technology gods produced a veritable geek-smorgasbord this week. Not only did Google announce its Ice Cream Sandwich/Android 4.0 update, but Moonfruit partnered with PayPal to launch its super easy-to-use Shopbuilder tool for web, mobile and social media platforms. Moonfruit’s software allows people who don’t even know what a computer is to build slick storefronts that integrate seamlessly into Facebook and mobile, a big improvement over anything that already exists. Google demoed Ice Cream Sandwich on its next-gen Android device, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Ice Cream Sandwich makes the current Android OS look like Pong. It features a slicker interface, advanced folder-izing, integrated voice recognition, multiple window browsing, a halfway decent camera with panoramic imaging and editing software, HD video, face recognition, an action bar (not that kind), a ginormous screen, the list goes on. Will it work on your crappy old phone? It may if you have Android 2.3 or higher but there are no guarantees.
