BlakRoc 2

September 1, 2011

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney may be the hardest working men in the music business. After a tour and Grammy wins for their last album Brothers, the Black Keys went right back into the studio to record their as yet untitled follow-up with the ubiquitous Danger Mouse which is due out toward the end of the year and they just released this trailer for a second installment of their hip hop project BlakRoc. The first album featured the dirty, blues-inspired riffing that the Keys have become known for and verses by Ol’ Dirty Bastard (pre-recorded), the RZA, Raekwon, Nicole Wray, Ludacris, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch and Q-Tip. The album was produced by Jay-Z’s old business partner Damon Dash and reportedly began as a jam session that Mos Def crashed. Blackroc 2 shines the spotlight on Talib Kweli, U God, Jay Electronica, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Jim Jones, The Cool Kids, and others.
