Fans of The Black Keys’ 2008 Danger Mouse-produced Attack and Release are in for some thick, freaky good news. This week the band announced that they had finished their seventh as-yet-untitled studio album, once again under the influence of Danger Mouse. Singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach said that the album sounds more like Clash-inspired punk and garage rock than their trademark soul and is much faster than anything they’ve ever done. One new song called Little Black Submarine even sounds like Black Sabbath according to Auerbach. This is the Black Keys playing Strange Times off of Attack and Release live at the Crystal ballroom in Portland, OR. Catch The Black Keys on tour at the Kanrocksas, Outside Lands and iHeart Radio festivals this summer.
