On September 8, 2009, the TicketLiquidator team volunteered to work for a few hours at Foodshare in Bloomfield, CT. Foodshare accepts donations of produce from various local and national companies, distributing it to local residents who need it most. Embracing the idea that food shouldn't go to waste, Foodshare takes produce from many sources and tries to find a use for all of it. This requires the fruits and vegetables to be sorted, ensuring that only good, healthy food is dispensed. Even the food that is not fit for human consumption is used as feed or fertilizer on farms. It's a fantastic program that accomplishes the dual goals of eliminating want and waste of food.
